-- In meningocele, the incomplete closure of the vertebra is accompanied by a protrusion of the spinal fluid and meninges into an external sac.
-- Myelomeningocele results when the external sac contains meninges, cerebrospinal fluid, and a portion of the spinal cord or its nerve roots.
